I saw this: Upcoming Development | Post: 51702

And I wanted to say my 2 cents regarding the enhancements to the Volume By Price study:
1) For hand drawn volume profiles over multiple bars/days, support Developing VPOC and Value Area lines.

2) A Hologram style of drawing for the profile. This is different than the Outline option. There is loss of data with the Outline option, visually. If there is a ledge in the volume (a sudden drop in the volume between two consecutive prices), it gets lost with the Outline. The advantage of the Outline option is that it uses very little ink on the charts. I would like a hologram (an outline with square corners with blank space inside the profile) and a closing vertical line on the other side at the base from the top of the profile to the bottom of the profile. I can provide additional information if needed.

3) There are so many inputs to the Volume By Price, it is confusing scrolling up and down the list of inputs to the study. The original Volume By Price's way of specifying the inputs, before you switched to the common style of inputs, was much more preferable because you know where each input item was, spatially/visually speaking. Each time I open the Study Settings, it is difficult to find what option I need to change to get the right effect. We can say that I may have to get used to it a little more before I know where everything is but I have been using SC for a while and my learning has been slow.

4) Make the peaks/valleys and VPOC levels for each profile can be made available in the subgraphs so that they are exposed to other charts/studies. This will need some thinking. You can choose to only store a handful number of peaks and valleys that are near the current price. These can all be developing levels.

5) Support multiple configurations of the Volume By Price study to be hand drawn each with a different button. This would be similar to the concept of each tool having 8 different configurations. This is not a big deal for me but it would be a nice addition.

6) Support highlighting a hand drawn profile by clicking on the rectangular border rather than any where inside the rectangle. At the moment, changing a hand drawn volume profile is tricky when I have multiple overlapping profiles on the chart. That probably should let you get rid of the "Enable Drawn Volume Profile Selection" option all together.

7) Not a big deal but I would like an option to display the Short Name of the Volume By Price study to be displayed at the top or bottom of the profile similar to Display Total Volumes for Profile option.

8) Add an option to Volume Graph Period Type to draw a profile over all bars of the chart.

Thanks.

This is already supported with the Volume by Price study.

This is already supported with the Volume by Price study.

ну...у нет. как и раньше линии обрываются на контуре профиля, не заходя внутрь другого профиля до реального пересечения с баром.
понятно, что вам так удобнее. но задача не решена.

удачи в делах.

Thanks for many of the changes that are being implemented by SC. I just wanted to provide a clarification on item #2 (Hologram). I am hoping you have not completed the implementation of this feature. The attached picture shows a partial picture of a hologram I was thinking about.

Thanks.

BIG thumbs up for #6 - being able to select drawn profiles only by selecting the enclosed rectangle border. having it activated every time when im trying to click on sth else behind it is annoying esp if you zoom into a chart.. makes it difficult to scroll as well by using the hand tool because the profile gets activated. so if nothing else.. this improvement would be a huge plus!

#2 thumbs up too. adding hologram rectangle outline draw type with transparent body would be a great feature that allows us to see the charts much more clearly while still visualising what's important from the volume profile

#5 great to have ability to select diff configurations just like any other drawing

I actually dont mind the long list of options.. Once you play around with a bit and use it extensively.. you become familiar quite quickly.. at least thats my experience. i know where every option is if i need to change sth.. as long as all the functions work.. its fine by me.

the rest.. mehh .. :)

Additional suggestion
right now we can highlight just the one bar on the profile for the POC regardless of draw type whether its hollow, filled or outline. why not add the same ability for VAH and VAL when choosing any draw type. I know we can highlight the entire area but then the color coding feature gets lost and you can see the distribution within the value area visually. Having option to color/highlight just the one bar for VAH and VAL would be a great add. And im not talking about the developing lines option. unless this is already there and ive missed it ?

Superb work thus far though!! kudos.

Usually I would welcome any user comments but I don't want to dilute the discussion with additional feature requests in here. It could easily turn into a User Discussion. I would like to avoid that if I could help. I apologize for any inconvenience. SC Support can correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks.

ha! the point of this whole support board is to provide feedback to SC Support about problems, features etc etc.. all users can comment on this thread because we are all adding value to this thread in relation to a single common topic - volume profiles. SC can see how much demand there is for your ideas and also hear alternative suggestions - all relating to the same topic. Users can easily create separate threads for each suggestion but that would be a waste of time for SC support! So your logic of dilution is flawed.. stop feeling like your thread/ideas are being hijacked..

users are here to add value to the same topic.. SC can read all of it and make informed decisions about what to consider and what to disregard..

If it is not too much trouble and if you agree it could be useful please consider adding the following:

9) An option to Volume Graph Period Type to draw a profile for the Prior Session. This would simply use the session times from the Chart Properties and draw one profile for the prior trading day. At the moment, to get the same effect I have to adjust the profile start date and end date each morning.

10) An option to Volume Graph Period Type to draw a profile for the Session for Date. Currently, there is an option available that requires me to specify the start date, start time, end date, and end time to get this profile but this new option would only need the start date. The session information would come from the Chart Properties.

Thanks.

Thanks for all the enhancements so far. The Hologram looks great. The Monthly profiles are definitely a help.

I was wondering if you were able to make any progress on #4 (peaks/valleys available via ACSIL to other studies). No rush if you haven't started. Thanks.

In relation to #3 in the original post, can you please make the study settings window expandable?

A simple click/drag from the bottom right corner to resize it would be great so that you can see all the settings at once instead of trying to frame things using a vertical + horizontal scroll bar.
