When I use the Price retracement tool on a symbol, then move to another symbol, when I return to the initial chart symbol the price retracement has moved. Am I required to click the "lock drawing" in order to prevent this from happening? If so, is there any way to make this an automatic feature?

This is not clear enough for us and is not making logical sense. We need to understand how it is moving. Probably what you are seeing is normal.

Let me start by saying I have been using Price retracement drawing tools for years on a variety of charting platforms so no, it's not a case of this being normal. I anchor the price retracement from a swing high, to swing low. When I move on to a different symbol and then return back to my initial symbol, the price retracement is nowhere near where it had been placed. In fact, in some cases it simply sits in the middle of the chart. The odd part is that I can change symbols and time frames several times i.e. over the course of a few minutes, and the price retrament will hold. All of a sudden, I'll go back to the same chart and it has changed positions and sits in space. |

Something like this is very hard for us to know the cause of unless we were to actually see exactly what you are doing and that would require a video to demonstrate the problem. Maybe you are moving the drawing for another symbol and expecting it to be the same back on the original symbol. We recommend unchecking Chart >> Chart Settings >> Show Chart Drawings for Different Symbols. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
