Hi There,
A copy of SC that was connected to Transact for trading and used the IQ feed from another copy of SC for chart data, will not show any symbols for charts when its data feed is changed in File>Data/Trade Services Settings to IQ Feed, SC Historical Data or SC Real Time Data.

There are no other copies of SC running and SC connects to all three data feeds (IQ Feed, SC Historical Data or SC Real Time Data) with no problem, and even thou, the "chart>chart settings>symbol" instance shows the connected data service, there are no available symbols.

Thanks

Hi There,

Followed update to symbol settings as per your instructions but no update occurred and, therefore, there are no symbols available in File>Find symbol.

FYI when opening a chartbook, the other copy of SC that was used in the past to connect to IQ Feed opens automatically, the way it did when this copy of SC was connected to Transact and both copies stay connected to IQ feed.

Thanks

We apologize for the delay.

What this means is there is a communication problem to the Sierra Chart Web server when updating the Symbol Settings. Try updating them again and if it still does not work refer to this section here for help with HTTP related errors:
Sierra Chart - Software Login Instructions: Login Problems

The communication error message will be displayed in the Window >> Show/Hide Message Log.

Hello, I have looked into it and it does not solve the problem, any other ideas of how to get the Global Symbols to work. As a side note I have 4 computers and 2 of them work fine, the other two have the problem..

Thanks in advance for your support.

Update Sierra Chart to the latest release by following these instructions:

https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/download.php#FastUpdate

The symbol settings are now downloaded with compression which may help in the case of when an Internet connection is the source of the problem which we suspect in your case.
