Dear Sierra Chart Support Team, I am experiencing an issue with Sierra Chart software where it crashes whenever I attempt to exclude a specific day from the chart data for the symbol $INX on the TPO chart. This issue occurred with the previous version of the software and continues to happen even after I updated to the latest version, 2670. This problem does not occur when I perform the same operation for other symbols, such as ESU24_FUT_CME, which works perfectly fine. To assist in diagnosing the issue, I have attached a screenshot of the error and the relevant log file. Could you please provide guidance or a solution to prevent the software from crashing when excluding a day for the $INX symbol on the TPO chart? Thank you for your assistance. Hi John, Thank you for your prompt response. I have followed the instructions provided and created a new chart. I have attached this new chart to this email, as requested. Additionally, I have attached my original chartbook containing the chart "ES CVA," which was causing the crash when excluding any day. This may help you investigate what specific setting or configuration might have been causing the issue. Interestingly, with the new chart created as per your instructions, the crash does not occur. Therefore, I will resolve the problem on my end by duplicating the new chart and deleting the original chart that was causing the crash. If you find any particular settings or configurations in the original chartbook that might have led to this issue, please let me know. Thank you again for your assistance. Hi John, Please disregard my previous message indicating that everything is okay. Unfortunately, the issue persists, and I'd like to provide some additional details to clarify the problem. When I have just one $INX chart in a separate chartbook, it works fine. However, as soon as I duplicate this $INX chart into my existing chartbook, which contains 14 other charts for the symbol ESU24_FUT_CME, it works only until I change the Tick Size to 0.25. After changing the Tick Size, the software crashes, even without using the "Dates To Exclude" option. I have attached the message log file for further analysis. I also utilized the "Send for Analysis" option within Sierra Chart. Please let me know if you need any further information or if there are additional steps I should follow. Thank you for your continued assistance. Best regards, Marcin Attachments: Message Log File |

A problem like this must be related to the Chart Tick Size. You need to increase it significantly. Try using 1, 5 or 10. Certainly do not use .01. Hi SC support team, Thank you for your detailed explanation and guidance. I understand that the issue could be related to the Tick Size setting. However, for my trading purposes, I specifically need a Tick Size of 0.25 for this symbol. Unfortunately, setting it to a larger value wouldn't work for my needs. Additionally, I wanted to mention that my laptop is quite new and powerful, so I don't believe the issue is related to laptop performance. (Please see my laptop specs below.) That said, I will still look into optimizing my system's performance or even consider an upgrade if necessary. Another possible factor might be my internet access. I am currently at sea and using an external router with Etisalat (UAE), which blocks many websites and communicators. The internet connection here is limited and slow, with a maximum download speed of 2-3 Mb/s, often dropping below 1 Mb/s. I frequently see a message in Sierra Chart saying "download historical chart in progress." Could this be contributing to the issue? I would appreciate any further guidance on how to address this while keeping the Tick Size at 0.25. Thank you again for your assistance.
