With the new version of Sierra Chart I have this issue where futures charts never stop downloading historical data, the charts are stuck in a loop despite the most recent data already having been downloaded.

Attached I show a small clip of the non-stop loop.

I really need to fix it as it makes the chart completely unusable and therefore the software.

This is not due to a particular Sierra Chart version. It is a Rithmic issue but there is a solution. Make sure you are not using an invalid symbol:

I still haven't been able to fix this problem. Why does it still happen on a single chart of MCL on a completely new chartbook and I've cleared all symbol alerts and have never touched quote boards or associated watch list.
Really need you to help me more specifically with what to do.

Also I open a new chart of crude oil futures and it doesn't download the past week of data for some reason. I realise these problems might be related to rithmic and not SC but if they don't get fixed I can't use the platform.

Thank you for your time in advance,

Kind regards
Afonso

There are a few items that are not related to a Chartbook that could have a bad symbol. This is why you need to go through the sections for Associated Watch Lists, Quote Boards, Intraday File Update List, and Symbol Alerts. Even if you think you have never touched these, make sure you look to ensure there is nothing in them.

With regards to not getting historical data, that is one of the issues with Rithmic - they have a lack of historical data available. This is not something we can help with.

Hey, I did go through Associated Watch Lists, Quote Boards, Intraday File Update List, and Symbol Alerts and it was all empty. Is there a way for me to connect to rithmic to trade my prop firm account but get data from another provider, I'm tired of the problems they give.

Thank you for answering quickly.

Yes of course you can get data from another provider and that would be the Denali Data Feed. We have information about this here:
Rithmic Trading Platform Service: Rithmic Market Data and Support Policy

Here are the instructions for the Denali Data Feed:
