Removing Heiken Ashi with Color Bars

Currently on my chart I have Heiken-Ashi Candles set to my main price graph. I also have several studies that color the HA candles based on on certain SG alert conditions. It works fine. I am looking to remove the HA candles and keep the color bars for the default candles on the main price graph. In order of operation I: 1. Uncheck "Display as Main Price Graph" on the HA study 2. Apply 3. Remove HA study I have also attempted to just remove the HA study without doing steps 1 & 2. When I do this the HA study is removed, however the color bars for the alert condition studies do not transfer to the default main price graph. In addition, any new color bar alert condition studies applied after removing the HA studies do not work. It seems by removing the HA study I am losing the ability to color bars on the chart. Is there some chart setting I need to adjust in addition to the steps that I am already taking? |

The order of removing the Heikin-Ashi has no impact. What exactly is occurring when you state that " the color bars for the alert condition studies do not transfer to the default main price graph"? What makes you state this? Also, after removing the Heikin-Ashi study, what do the "Color Bars" studies have their "Based On" set to? What exactly is occurring when you state that " the color bars for the alert condition studies do not transfer to the default main price graph"? What makes you state this?
When I uncheck the "Display as Main Price Graph" box in the HA study I get two sets of candles on my chart. 1. The HA Candles with the color bars attached to them, both of which are locked in place locked on my screen. 2. The default candle sticks. When I remove the HA study completely the HA candles disappear as well as the color bars. Also, after removing the Heikin-Ashi study, what do the "Color Bars" studies have their "Based On" set to?
The color bar based on alert condition studies are based on "Main Price Graph" through all situations. I can provide screenshots if my descriptions are not clear. |

This makes sense and is correct. You need to remove the Heikin-Ashi, or move it to another region, if you want to not have those two sets of candles. The color bar based on alert condition studies are based on "Main Price Graph" through all situations. I can provide screenshots if my descriptions are not clear.
Then there must be something about the alert conditions you were using for the Heikin-Ashi that is making the "Color Bar Based on Alert Condition" no longer valid. I did consider this. I did the following. I recreated the same alert conditions to function correctly on a fresh chart in the same chartbook without the HA candles. I attempted to add other color bar studies to the chart in question and none of them work. As far as I can tell there is something happening on my chart where I am unable to get any color bar functionality to work after removing HA candles as the main price graph. Is it possible there is a setting in the specific chart that is causing this? |

Start a new chart and add a single "Color Bar Based on Alert Condition" to that chart. Enter the following for the "Alert Formula": =1 Do not change anything else and select OK. All the bars should change to the color setting for the "Color Bar" subgraph on the Subgraphs tab (the default is a pink color). If this works, which it should, then there is something about your other Color Bar studies, or perhaps the chart itself is not set as you are expecting. But there is something simple somewhere that is causing this. If the above does not work, then get us a chartbook with that chart in it and we will take a look.
