Alerts sounds are duplicating (two instances)

I'm running two instances of Sierra chart.
1 that has two charts of MES
1 that has two charts of MNQ

When I make a trade I get sound notifications from both instances (duplication sound)

What can I do to stop this so that it only makes 1 sound and doesn't duplicate?

Are you using a Sub-Instance (started with File >> New Instance) or two completely separate installations?

What is the exact alert option that is getting duplicated ("Play Alert for New Order", "Play Alert when Order Filled", etc.)?

I believe it is a sub-instance because when I close the main one, the second one just says "connecting" "reconnect wait" so they appear to be connected.

I have two alerts set up
general settings > alerts >
alert 1 = orderhasbeenfilled.wav
alert 2 = bulk.wav

I forgot the next step where I set where those alerts are triggered but I want it set up so that when an order is filled I get alert1 and when I cancel the bracket order (decided I didn't want to trade) I get alert2 sound.

For order fills and order cancels, the alerts are set in "Trade >> General Trade Settings >> Notifications".

From what you state, it sounds like at least one of these is setup, and since orders are processed through the Main Instance, you are getting the alert sounding twice since the Main Instance and the Sub-Instance are both recognizing the fill (or cancellation). You just need to set the option to be alerted in the Main Instance, and you should only get the 1 alert sound.

in the sub-instance, I set it back to no alert sound (see screen shot)

The problem is now when I make a trade in this sub-instance, I am not hearing anything.

attached are the two screen shots that have to do with the alerts sounds.
Both are taken from the main instance.

Yes both were:
alert 1 = orderhasbeenfilled.wav
alert 2 = bulk.wav

Since im having this issue would it just be better for me to create a proper new instance instead of the Sub-Instance I'm using. Or would that still cause the duplicating sound issue?

It will not help to do that. You should only have to disable the alerts in the sub instance and enable the alerts you want in the main instance. This is all.

But make sure you are not filtering them:
Global Trade Settings Windows: Trade Order Alert Trade Accounts Filter (Global Settings >> General Trade Settings >> Notifications)

Maybe this is a bug because I may have setup the sub instance incorrectly.

when I created the sub instance what i did to transfer everything over was to go in the C:\SierraChart and then copy most of the folders from that into the new instance folder C:\SierraChart\SierraChartInstance_2

There must be some kind of link because of that.

No, this is not the case. The only thing this would have done is setup the alerts to be the same. But you can change this in the settings for the sub-instance. Make sure you turn off the alert notifications in the sub-instance for orders as specified here:
Global Trade Settings Windows: Notifications (Global Settings >> General Trade Settings)

I've already tried that. When I disable it in the sub-instance then I don't get any sound notification when I make a trade on that sub-instance.

I guess its a bug I will just have to deal with the duplicating sound.

Therefore, there should not be any issue. We disabled all trade event alerts in the sub instance (Global Settings >> General Trade Settings >> Notifications).

We only had alerts configured in the main primary instance, and got an alert when filled. And the main instance was configured to give an alert for an order fill.

Make sure there is no filtering:
Global Trade Settings Windows: Trade Order Alert Trade Accounts Filter (Global Settings >> General Trade Settings >> Notifications)

And check the Window >> Alert Manager >> Log in the main instance for a line when there is the trade event. It should be there. So long as the particular trade event is configured to given alert.
