MGC continuous contract - best settings?

Unlike indices, with their H,M,U,Z rollovers, GC has some months when the volume is low. Like V contract, where the next traded high-volume contract is Z. So my current setting is "volume rollover", and it works well for indices. But in GC I got this bit of V contract trading which is then(based on volume)rolled over to Z in like 7 days, leaving gaps behind and a funny looking chart(the thin volume of the V contract is obvious if you use something like 5 min chart). What are the best settings in this case? Is it possible(and recommended) to somehow skip V and display only Q, followed by Z(basically just displaying the high volume contracts and back-adjusting it to make it right)? |

There is a solution to this but it was not implemented for this symbol. It is now. Follow the instructions here to update the Symbol Settings: Global Symbol Settings: Update Global Symbol Settings And then reload the chart with Chart >> Reload and Recalculate. Make sure though that the MGC chart is not set to the V contract. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users.
