My child stop loss order didn't trigger

Hello I had an overnight orders for ES and NQ with set stop loss. somehow the child stop loss order didn't trigger overnight and i took a massive loss. This happened 2 sunday's ago as well. Why is this keep happening? this is very inconsistent performance of the software. What could have i done differently? |

You need to look at the "Trade Activity Log" and see why the Stop was removed. Refer to the following: Trade Activity Log Analysis: Determining the Origin of a New/Modified Order Most likely, you had the "Time in Force" set to "Day", therefore the Stop would have been removed at the end of the trading day and not been present overnight. For attached accounts, you can view what you have set for new orders by referring to the following: Attached Orders: Time In Force For an already placed order, you would need to find the order on your Trade Activity Log in the "Trade Activity" page and scroll to the right where there is a column for "Time in Force" and see what was the value for that particular order. Thanks John, appreciate it. something is not making sense. Please see attached screenshot. it says CQG fills data restored and it didn't have child orders listed there.

This is usually the result of two things. 1. Not using Good till Canceled for the Attached Orders for the Time in Force: Attached Orders: Time In Force 2. Or in your case because you are using CQG, if the parent order has not yet filled and Sierra Chart is not running or there is a loss of connectivity, then the child orders will not be sent to the exchange.
