New to SierraCharts - downloaded, installed and ???

I searched online and through the install instructions. I downloaded the install file for the new version (dated today 11/14/22) and went through the install. It included a shortcut on my desktop (which doesn't work.)

I go to c:/Sierracharts/ and double click the Sierracharts.exe file and it seems the login screen flashes for a second and then nothing. Task manager shows nothing running.

I have done this twice now! Tried the zip version too, still same outcome.

tried a previous version, same outcome.

and yes, I have a powerful enough computer - above all requirements listed. And nothing was running when I installed.

help!

well, I thought I had that off. but I had to dig deeper to really turn off my antivirus scanner. Yup, seems that was the issue. thank you.
