Hello,

I have a simple question that nowhere can I find an answer.

What does $ INX (SP500) or $ NDX (Nasdaq) show for volume?
E.g. for ES or NQ volume I understand (number of contracts) but for $ INX I have no idea.

Thank you.

We had a look at $INX . It does appear to be the actual component volume, but we do see large-volume updates at times which either could be an error or actual, but it does cause a huge jump in volume. So we do not know about the trustworthiness of the volume data.

Thanks for the information. Is it possible to read traded volume in shares (from which the index is calculated, eg SP500) from market statistics?
