I use Transact for my data feed and was logged in prior to market open yesterday. Everything worked fine. I disconnected to modify formulas in the spreadsheet. When I attempted to reconnect, I received a Transact API error.

I contacted TransAct, and they said I needed to install and configure the latest version of TranAct for Sierra Chart. I did, but still get the API error when I try to logon.

I am using TransAct 5.6.9.6 and Sierra Chart 1875.

I thought I might also need the latest version of Sierra Chart. So I attempted to install the current version. However, the installation encountered an error and stated it could not move (open) SierraChartStudies_64.dll.

So the update failed and I still can't login!

Turns out the root cause of the problem was TransAct. Yesterday, they changed the way their interface works with Sierra Charts.

They stated that I had to update to their latest version, which I did, but still couldn't login.

I called them back this morning, and they stated that they forgot to tell me that I had to Opt In to Sierra Chart as my chart provider. So I did that, but still couldn't login.

I called them back again, and then they stated that I had to install the latest pre-release of Sierra Chart since it is the only version compatible with their new interface. So I did that and can now login!

Talk about an uncoordinated effort!

I wonder how many other customers nationwide are experiencing the same problem!

The latest prerelease? No, that is definitely not necessary. Updating was only coincidental as resolving the issue. Any version in the last two months will connect to Transact.
