Hello SC,

I'm using SC v1915 because of proprietary Dlls in 32 bits I cannot migrate now.

Connection with Transact was OK all the previous days till this morning when I received an error message 'Logon error received from server : Disabled API Token'

Nevertheless I cannot migrate SC now to upper version above v2008 which login correctly because of my proprietary studies. Can you please check what happened this night in order I can still use v1915.

This is very important to me as I'm blocked and I don't have any shor-term option and It could be catastrophic.

Thank you for your understanding. (I contacted Transact Dept, they don't have any clue at their side for theyesterday changes)

Recent versions of Sierra Chart including version 2020 still provide the 32-bit version of Sierra Chart which support 32-bit DLLs. So you can update and you should be able to use your custom study DLLs. Updated instructions:
Software Download: Fast Update

If for some reason you need to recompile your source code into updated DLLs, here are the instructions for that:
How to Build an Advanced Custom Study from Source Code

Now when you update to the current version of Sierra Chart you may get an Account Logon Error from Transact. In this case refer to:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/TransAct.php#AccountLogonError

Also the error "Disabled API Token" is directly from Transact. So apparently they disabled the token for the bridge program.

Hello again SC,

launching V2020 32 bits I couldn't find at all my KIWIx and proprietary dlls !?!
I accounters then a lot of problems : "multiple and unceasing out of bounds array" errors that drastically slow down the graphics creating a live time shift, and all these specific proprietary studies are not generated.

Please, In which directoy should I place these Dlls to be recognize with this v2020 ? Because when I click on the button "Add Custom Study" in my chart study, these Custom studies are no more in the list as before.

Thanks in advance for your help

Updating is not going to cause the files to be missing. But we can do remote assistance session to understand what is happening better. We will not be able to get to it today though.

The files need to be in the Data Files Folder:
General Settings Window: Data Files Folder (Global Settings >> General Settings >> Paths >> Files and Folder Paths)

: "multiple and unceasing out of bounds array"
We will definitely get this resolved for you and it may already be resolved in prerelease version 2021. Update with Help >> Download Prerelease.

We have contacted the developer of your custom studies for the source code. We will let you know as soon as we hear from them. We would expect to hear from them today.

It is always important to obtain the CPP file for your custom studies from a developer and keep that. As long as you have that, you will always be safe. It is an easy thing to recompile for a current version of Sierra Chart. Sometimes there may be some minor changes needed like renaming of identifiers. Or other minor changes but in general this is simple and we can do that for you.

Hello,

By the way if it's possible it could be standard studies for SierraChart from v2021, otherwise can you ask him the cpp file please in order to prevent the same problems later with new version and to have the possibility to compile in 32 & 64 bits mode. That would be great : it's verily central for my chartbooks. I was so afraid till now as I'm still blocked.... Thanks for your cooperation guys and your dedication in helping.

Hello SC,

Thanks again for your reactivity , the programer contacted me around noon.

I just run SC v2021 64bits with the new dllrecompiled by the programmer. The study seems to display fine but very slow reaction of the charts when I try to move them and with regular freezing of the windows when loading live Data. I noticed a lag of 2-7 even 10 seconds between the Chart and the DOM. So impossible to trade now. How can I debug and find the Dlls which cause problems, is there any debug Window ?

Thanks again for your help.

You can look at the calculation times of the studies in the Chart Studies window:
Chart Studies: Studies To Graph

Try running the 32-bit version to see if that helps. You will need to get the 32-bit version of the DLLs from the developer.

Otherwise, refer to this help topic:

Hello SC,

I received from the developer the new Dlls in 32 & 64 bit.

1- I opened SC_v1915 32bit with a rithmic datafeed and the speed is normal as before when I used Transact (as you know SC_v1915 32bit is now unfunctional with Transact since yesterday as they removed their brigde, hopely one compatible demo rithmic datafeed was provided to me)

2- I opened SC_2021 32 & 64 bit with Transact Datafeed with new 32 & 64 bit Dlls, the speed is very slow with big freezing and laging in the display of Datas

In the two cases I marked the calculation time for each study , I got a problem particularly with one study 'Range Bar predictor'. In case 1 I have 0 (zero) ms calculation time ; and in case 2 ( with SC_v2021 32& 64 bit) I obtain 1235 ms in 32 & 64 bits !! - the problem still exists with a the remove and a reload of the sudy - Perhaps it is the reason of the problem because this study acts as a kind of loop calculation, refreshing all the time ; and regarding all the other studies they have comparable (v2021 Vs v1915 32 bits) calculation time.
Can you check please this study Range Bar predictor as I think it has perpahps a problem either in 32 or 64 bit mode with SC_2021 and probably with precedent versions of SC too.

I hope sincerly I don't mistake : a lot of time already spent, all my problem could then be solved

Waiting to hear you very soon

Thanks for your help guys !

We do see an efficiency improvement which can be made with Range Bar Predictor and that is implemented and will be out later today.

Yes we will put out a new version right now 2022. Just allow about 30 minutes. It takes longer when we have to do the 32-bit build because the optimization is slow.

But it does not seem as though the Range Bar Predictor is really the reason for the problem. The inefficiency is only during a full recalculation.

Hello SC,

I downloaded the SC_v2022. The improvment is great in the calculation of 'Range Bar Prdictor'; thank you very much. Nevertheless, there is still the problem of freezing and laging in my charts. Today I'm still blocked in my trading activity.

In the beginning of this file , I told you I encountered a lot of alerts in my message log : unceasing 'Out of bound array error' in most of my charts :

Chart #8 | Color Bar Based On Alert Condition ID: 0 SubGraphData Array2: Out of bounds array error at Index 0 | 2019-12-06 02:50:13.123 *
Array message repeat count limit reached. | 2019-12-06 02:50:13.123 *
Chart #8 | Color Bar Based On Alert Condition ID: 0 SubGraphData Array0: Out of bounds array error at Index 0 | 2019-12-06 02:50:13.123 *
Chart #8 | Color Bar Based On Alert Condition ID: 0 SubGraphData Array0: Out of bounds array error at Index 0 | 2019-12-06 02:50:13.123 *
Chart #8 | Color Bar Based On Alert Condition ID: 0 SubGraphData Array0: Out of bounds array error at Index 0 | 2019-12-06 02:50:13.123 *

............................

As you told me, you inhibitated these alerts in v2021 so that they don't appear anymore but they are still prevalent with my chartbook as we can see them in the 'message log' file when I downgraded and run into SC_v2017.

Are they the indicators of the problem ? So that we need perhaps to pinpoint the causes starting from them. .. I sent you please the 'Message Log' for further analysis at your side. All is now OK with the proprietary 64&32 bit Dlls but I'm still blocked with this.

Regards.

Regarding Out of bounds array error at Index 0, it does not help to show us an issue with a prior version when this issue does not exist in the current version. There is simply nothing for us to do.

Nevertheless, there is still the problem of freezing and laging in my charts.
You really need to go through the items in help topic 30 to improve performance:
High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often

The most likely problem would be inefficient studies or an inefficient study configuration or too low of a Chart Update Interval.
