SC Support, you may delete this thread -- I just saw another post yesterday where you said you would be switching from OEC longer term, so this is not an option I will be willing to pursue.
=============

I am considering a broker who uses OEC. Traders who are using OEC, I'd like to ask your general impression of the OEC data feed.

1) Is the data feed reliable, with low latency and fast order manipulation (meaning, there's no delay when cancelling an order, etc.)?

2) Do you run into situations where you wish you had more than 5 real-time symbols that could update?

3) How is the experience with OEC within SC? Does everything work as expected (server-side OCO, etc.)?

SC, from your experience being on the back end of things, would you have any negative considerations to using OEC? Obviously you support it, but would you recommend it? I should be running IQFeed for data so bid/ask will be fine, but I still would like the data from OEC to be as high quality as possible.

Also, will your move to the non-.NET version in October as the primary SC platform affect OEC, since it currently does not work with that version?

We did not say will be switching from OEC longer-term. You misinterpreted what we said. OEC is still supported and will be. We are going to be switching over to a FIX and FAST connection to OEC which does not require .NET. This work is mostly done. It just needs some additional technical review and testing that we have not been able to focus on yet.

OEC is fine and it is recommended. The only limitation is you can only get tick by tick data on up to 5 symbols at a time.

The data quality is not perfect, but if it is not good enough, when our own futures data feed becomes available you can use that in combination with it.

I used OEC for about a year, and experienced more frequent outages than other feeds. I also heard their new owner GAIN Capital is not as reliable as you might expect, but I have no personal experience as I moved on before OEC changed hands.
