When you open both I/B accounts(simulated and live) with separate SC accounts everything works OK until you shut down one SC account and then open it again. The I/B sub-accounts in the SC account you just shut down and then re-opened have the identity of the account you did not shut down,i.e., the sub-accounts in both SC accounts are the same even though they have different data/trade settings.

This is confusing.

The basic answer is that Sierra Chart is going to show your IB account information from the TWS you are connected to in that instance of Sierra Chart.

We do not know exactly what you are doing. So you may want to look at the port numbers you are using to connect to TWS.

If I have 2 SC accounts open connected to a one to a Live IB account and one to a simulated IB account, should they be connected to different port #'s even though the data trade service information is different?

They are both connected to the same port #7496. If they should be different, what should the second one be?

Sorry for the confusing explanation.

Change the first sentence to read.

So you are running 2 copies of Trader Workstation? Both of those should definitely be using a different port number. This is explained here:

Thank you for the reply. I understand what you are saying. I am not familiar with port numbers, can I use any number or are there certain port numbers available?
