No exchange list response?

I am connected to SC 1475 using Protocol Buffers encoding. Things generally are working well thus far. But when I do an ExchangeListRequest, I get no response. Yes, LogonResponse.SymbolExchangeDelimiter is empty, implying (I think) that you are not "using" exchanges. But the docs at http://dtcprotocol.org/index.php?page=doc/DTCMessages_SymbolDiscoverySecurityDefinitionsMessages.php#Messages-EXCHANGE_LIST_REQUEST say "In the case where the Server does not specify an exchange with its symbols, then the Server should provide a single response with an empty Exchange" So I expected at least an empty response (size/messageType with size==4). DTS is set to "SC Data - All Services" When I do a SecurityDefinitionForSymbolRequest for ESZ16 I get a good response, but the Exchange (and the Underlying Symbol) fields are empty. Other fields seem to be correct. I don't want to bother you with many questions, but this one seems rather fundamental and I suspect I am misunderstanding something important. Thanks, Dale |

ExchangeListRequest is not implemented in Sierra Chart but it is not a problem for us to do that.

No problem, I was just surprised not to receive an empty response. Perhaps this is not the right venue to ask about the Sierra Chart support for DTC in its server implementation. Let me know if I should move such questions to the Sierra Chart Support Board. I'm working on a C# DTC client and "test" server, which I hope to make open source within the next month or two. I'm aware of https://github.com/SierraChart/CSharp-DTC-client but I want a more extensive and more modern implementation for my own purposes. Cheers, Dale |
