I downloaded data for DLICE_CO-CT-DLICE_0-CO.CT.201307.1 and I got this below message twice, during the historical minute and tick data requests:

CTS T4 Service: Exception caught in OnChartDataComplete: Buffer cannot be null.
Parameter name: buffer | 2013-07-09 10:16:18

What does it mean? Is something wrong?
The only explanation I could think of was I asked for data too far back. My max historical days to download is 90.

Thanks

At the end of this week, we are releasing support for T4 FIX. This will resolve issues like this which we do not have control over and do not have an understanding of since the issue is with the T4 software.

Please contact us in a few days for instructions to use T4 FIX.

For more information about our position on this, refer to help topic 76 here:

Hello SC Support

I've connected SC v994 NoCLR to T4 SimServer using new T4 FIX API
The very first impression - SC with the T4 FIX is very cool in terms of stability and resources usage.
Looks like there are wrong historical info from SimSrv. I'm not sure about LiveSrv at this moment.
Also Sim Server has rejected the Trading Orders.

FYI: Also looks like there is a problem w Depth of Market on Rithmic. The DOM levels disappeared within 1 minute after a DOM had been opened .

Thank you.

SC Support.

FYI:

This is the new T4 FIX vs IQFeed.

The chart w T4 is all real-time from SimSrv.

The chart w IQ is 50/50 hist+real-time.

Pls, look at the Total Volume.

Your trading orders are being rejected because your account name is not selected, so there is no account to associate orders with. In the Data Trade Service Settings, there is an input for "Account". This is not typically the same as your username. The account does not need to be filled in to connect, only to trade.

You can fill this value in manually if you know it, or select from a list of valid accounts after connecting.

Once you connect to the service, after a few seconds the Account drop down will be populated with all of the accounts associated with the username (i.e. you could have multiple accounts). Just go back into the Data Trade Service Settings, and select the proper account from the list.

The selected value will be remembered, so this only needs to be done once.

Hello Al SC Developer

Thank you for the info.

I've tried this for SimSrv w no luck.

I'll try this on the Live Account when SC Team will say the FIX API is ready for the Live Server.

With best regards.

Hello SC Support

As I can see there is the prefix SIM: for the SimSrv Symbols - maybe this is the another reason of rejection Trading Orders that have been sent from SC using FIX.

http://s12.postimg.org/4xlkomyzh/t4_3.png

You can fill this value in manually if you know it, or select from a list of valid accounts after connecting.

No accounts are presented after connection to the SimSrv. the "Account drop down menu" is empty.

Thank you.

from post #3

SC 996.

The issue is still there.
I can see it over Rithmic and didn't see it over T4.
Looks like this is the GSP-Bridge related issue.

Thank you.

Not sure why you would have any trouble with market depth on Rithmic. There was one minor problem with the best Bid and Ask prices, but this is resolved in the latest release.

What symbol are you looking at the market depth for when using Rithmic ?

The issue takes place when a Last Price is changing.

This is CLR/R vs noCLR/T4

Hello all, not sure if this is relevant to this exact issue, but I logged in this morning to CTS:T4 thru TopStepTrader sim server and my charts are not backfilling the data from when I logged off last (Fri). They produce a gap in the charts and just show data from when I requested the connection. Upgraded from 992 to 996 and the problem still exists.

Also get this note on the message log which I haven't seen before:

HD Request # 6 - CTS T4 Service: Sending request for historical Second data. TradeDate: 2013-07-12 | 2013-07-15 06:56:17
CTS T4 Service: Error with historical data request. T4 Message: Request timed out waiting for a response from the server. | 2013-07-15 06:57:12

This is not related.

You need to re-download the data again. For some reason there was no response from the T4 server. Follow the instructions in help topic 7.1 here:

Actually I also contacted TST support and they relayed that CTS:T4 was having issues with their charts today. It seems to be working now though.

Hello SC Support

We have identified the issue for historical/real time data, and it will be addressed in ver 997.

I've tested v997 w T4 FIX and I can see some issues for FX Futures 6E, 6B - 4 exmpl:

1. the Historical Data starts at 7 p.m. CT but the right time is 5 p.m CT
2. there is a problem with the backfill for the current Bar at the time of the connection to the Service - SC loses some ticks for this bar.

Thank you.

In response to post #12 and post #14, the market depth problem with Rithmic will be resolved in the next release. We will put out a new revision in about 30 minutes.

Hello SC Support.

2. This may be hard to resolve.

v998 T4 sim

The example is for 3:43 am.

If SC will be reconnected to the service during a new bar - SC will lose the volume and price for a new bar.

The problem which makes this really impossible for us to resolve is that is not possible for us to request less than one whole day of data at a time in the case of CTS. So when that data finally arrives and is processed, the most recent trading activity is missed. If we try to fill in that missing data, we have to ask for another whole day of data. So there is no way to solve this.

If CTS adopts the GSP protocol for historical data, then this issue would not exist.

We have pointed this out to CTS, but at this time they are not willing to make any changes.
