If I have a chart that is, say 500Ticks per bar, generated from single tick data and run a manual backtest in the Accurate Trading Backtest Mode, will said test be a tick by tick test?

Yes for the most part. If the ticks do not change in price and there is no new bar added, then your study function will not be called until there is a new bar or a change in price. There is this small optimization that Accurate Auto Trade Back Test Mode uses so the test is not too slow.
