the position of the tool bars AND the "Max.Historical Intradays To Download" number

30000 is not a valid Maximum Historical Intraday Days to Download. It is much too high. This is why it is being reset.

The position of Toolbars is something that's controlled by some Microsoft software that we have no control over. This is something that we plan to change later on. There is not much we can do about problems that arise with that.

30000 Maximum Historical Intraday Days to Download was valid till yesterday. Also it reset to the maximum possible before now it sets it to 96. I need the maximum intraday data for forex.

What is the maximum ?

About the toolbar position:
You seem to have control, since it worked 2 days ago - before your update.

We tried setting the Historical Intraday Days to Download to 30000 and the number did not change back to the default. We had thought it was being reset back to the default, but this is not the case.

It seems as though the problem you are having with both of these is that the Sierra Chart configuration file (sierra3.CFG) might be set to read-only or your Windows account does not have write access to the folder Sierra Chart is installed to.

I will check the file sierra3.CFG

But the "reset" only occurs after you restart sierra - no reset during the running session.

my sierra3CFG is not write protected. (I right clicked the file in its folder)
Also I can save new chartbooks into my data folder. So I think no Windows issue - but correct me.

While I just tried this - I discovered that nearly all of your CFD dont give history right now.
Can you confirm this issue ?

Forex Symbols do work.

USDTRY has bad history the last 7 days or so

I have multiple installations of sierra.

All show the same reset issue for Historical Intraday Days to Download after restart.

The multiple installations of Sierra Chart is probably the source of the issue with the Toolbars. As we said, it is not something we have control over. Microsoft is not handling that properly

You cannot get CFD data with the Sierra Chart Historical Data Service. In File >> Data/Trade Service Settings >>Historical Data Service Settings , enable Use Primary Service Server.

Not sure about the Maximum Historical Intraday Days to Download setting not saving. Never heard of this before. There is no reasonable explanation for it. You should not have any kind of issue like this unless we are misunderstanding what you are describing.

To summarize it for you. I have multiple instances of sierra running ( multiple data vendors). All showed strange behavior after the last update(s)

1.
I can not access CFD via FXCM. I have multiple data vendors, hence the multiple instances.
Is your CFD service running or not ? Did you change your service or was CFD only available for FXCM servers before. I have the setting to Sierra servers.

2.
I am glad that the issue of - Maximum Historical Intraday Days to Download setting not saving - is new to you - since it emerged after the last update.

3.
Are you saying sierra does not support multiple, parallel instances of Sierra anymore ? For multiple data vendors ?

What do we next to solve this ? You want me to send you a movie ? Please dont leave the customer with: "You should not have any kind of issue like this "

TY for your support.

1. We already answered this in post #11:

You cannot get CFD data with the Sierra Chart Historical Data Service. In File >> Data/Trade Service Settings >>Historical Data Service Settings , enable Use Primary Service Server.
We also assume that you know that the main Service has to be set to SC Forex Data (FXCM).

2.Correction: The maximum setting is going to be 10000. If you go higher than this, it will default to 93.

3.We never said any such thing. We have made it very clear that this is a Microsoft bug and we cannot do anything about it. Thinking about this some more, the ToolBar data is stored separately for each installed copy of Sierra Chart. There is no solution to this at this time. It is a Microsoft bug that we have no control over. Longer-term, it will be resolved when we no longer rely upon the Microsoft framework for the ToolBar. Please do not bother us with this any longer. We understand the concern. But it is out of our control and we understand the stupid Microsoft bug that exists, and their inability resolve simple problems, and the stupid engineering practices that Microsoft has. At the moment we can do nothing about this.

Here are instructions to delete the ToolBar data. Please follow them to see if it helps with the ToolBar problem:

Exit from Sierra Chart.

Press the Start button on the Windows taskbar. Select Run . Type the name regedit and press OK. In Windows 7, you may need to follow a slightly different procedure. After opening the Start menu, type regedit in the Search box, and press Enter.

When the registry editor opens, it provides a view similar to folders on a disk drive. Locate this particular folder (known as a key in the registry) and delete it:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SierraChart\SierraChart

This line above is a series of keys that you will find in the registry and it is the last key, SierraChart, that needs to be deleted.
