Hi: I'm currently using SC Exchange Data feed with orders routed thru IB. I was setting up cumulative delta study. In order to get maximum accuracy, as per instruction, I went into Data/Trade Service settings, selected IB, and changed Intraday Data Storage Time Unit from 1 second to 1 tick. However, I immediately received a message saying "download failed", and SC froze; with data stopped streaming all together. Even the [M] symbol top of the charts disappeared. Problem is solved when I switch Intraday Data Storage Time Unit back to 1 second. How can I fix this? I would like to use 1 tick for most accurate data. Thanks. Mark |

The way this is described could not make sense. Changing that setting does not cause any data downloading to occur. Try changing the Intraday Data Storage Time Unit back to 1 Tick. You should have no trouble with this at all. However, make sure that your antivirus/anti-malware software is not scanning the files: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/helpdetails30.html#h30.8 It seems like this is the most likely problem. Thanks for the quick reply. I tried it again, switched it back to 1 tick just now, and it worked! I did not change my antivirus settings at all. Not sure what happened before, perhaps had something to do with IB or Barchart.com's data feed shutting down temporarily during daily maintenance (I made the changes just after 4 pm EST). Anyway, I'm glad it finally did work. Thanks again for your help! |
