It depends on the data you need. The requirement to have a broker is a CME Group requirement. Refer to the information here: Real-Time Exchange Data Feeds Available From Sierra Chart: Understanding and Accessing Data From the CME, CBOT, NYMEX, COMEX Exchanges Note that you can still pay the Professional Exchange Fees for the CME Group data if you do not have/want a broker. If you need data from any other exchange(s), then you do not need to have a broker to qualify for the non-professional exchange fees.
