SC on Zenfire freezing while in trade

Hi; I just started using SC with a Zenfire datafeed from AMP futures this week. Since, I've had SC freeze up while in a trade twice. Just closing SC and restarting it seems to fix it but obviously I need to fix this issue. Any suggestions? Thanks |

I'm only using SC for execution. Only have 2 DOMs up. DOMs freeze and only the x button to close it works--I think. I haven't messed with it a lot, when I'm in a trade and I lose control I'm only focused getting out. I kind of think it has to do with when I'm in a trade--I use a trailing stop for it to manage--and high volume times. Thanks Date Time Of Last Edit: 2013-05-09 20:11:43

We suspect this is due to the Rithmic API component from Rithmic freezing. Otherwise, there is no reason for this to happen. When this happens, could you email us at support @ Sierra Chart.com with your telephone number and we will then contact you. What we would like to know is when this happens, go to the Windows Task Manager. Go to the Processes tab and see what the CPU usage is for Sierra Chart. Please tell us the percentage. If this is caused by the Rithmic API software that we are using, in the longer-term, we do have a solution for this. Although it has been a very long time since we have heard about a problem like this with the Rithmic software. The previous problem was resolved. Thank you. Please do let us know what the CPU usage is next time this happens. We also indicated by email that we are going to be changing the integration method to Rithmic to prevent an issue like this assuming it is caused by the Rithmic software. Another thing for us to consider is the amount of data in the Trade Activity Log. Go to Global Settings >> General Trade Settings. Reduce the Number of Days to Save in the Trade Activity Log to 10. We finally have the new release of Sierra Chart which uses a separate process as the interface to the Rithmic API. Let us know if there any problems and let us know if the problem is resolved. However if the freezing was actually due to the Rithmic API, then the separate process would also potentially freeze. This is good. This is also confirmation that the problem was indeed within the Rithmic API. And if a freeze condition is detected in the new separate process which is used for the Rithmic API, then the process is automatically shut down and restarted. To be clear and so there is no misunderstanding, it is the Rithmic software which is used to connect to the Zen fire systems. Zen fire uses the Rithmic software.
