...hi there...

...just wanted to inform you that when I downloaded ver. 2675 (15 min. ago) from ver. 2674 all my instances did NOT connect automatically to data feed...
...I went to connect them manually and that worked but some instances started freezing...
...went back to ver. 2674 and everything works fine...
...thank you...
...all the best...

We do see the issue with the system not connecting on startup in version 2675. We will take care of this.

We would need more information on what is occurring in terms of freezing, but at this time, we would say wait for the startup issues to be resolved and then see if you have a problem. This should be resolved in version 2676 when it comes out as a Pre-Release.

You are using too short of a Chart Update Interval and this is the cause of the issue:

...I went to connect them manually and that worked but some instances started freezing...
...went back to ver. 2674 and everything works fine...

It needs to be increased.

..."cause of the issue" refers to "freezing"...correct ?!...
...it was set to 100 ms...
...now I set to 300 ms...could go up to 500 ms...
...
...although I do not have "freezing" being in ver. 2674 still some "lagging" is present in general because I have very "heavy load" on charts but my pc is superb (16+8 chores; 128 GB RAM; SSD 1TB; internet wired 1Gb)...
...16 cores brings me to 6.25% of CPU per core (!!)...
...
...about "connecting issue" that you guys confirmed...I have no problem staying in ver. 2674 for a while...

I also needed to in increase my update interval otherwise it would take minutes "freezing" (after replaying 1200 days) to detect to that a chart replay was stopped by my custom study.

sc.StopChartReplay(sc.ChartNumber);

...

if (sc.GetReplayStatusFromChart(sc.ChartNumber) == 0){

..

// chart interval: 10 -> would take 100 thousands of programs loops to get here
// chart interval: 500 -> runs right away

}

ps; on 2675 replaying seems to be a lot faster but i need to look in the results (nr trades done, etc)

How is it a performance gain if I have to update my chart's update interval?

Regarding this thread, refer to this post here:
What is Sierra Chart Working On | Post: 394194

We are not claiming any performance improvement. It is a reduction in the usage of Windows resources. Whether that translates into any benefit, depends upon each user.

There is definitively no performance loss. You need to adjust the Chart Update Interval, to effectively get the same update interval that actually was occurring previously.

In other words if you have the Chart Update Interval at 10 ms, the charts may have only been updating every 100 ms based upon the available CPU time and the processing time of all of the charts you have open. So in this case, you would need to adjust the Chart Update Interval to 100 ms.

We do not know why there is any "Freezing". We do not notice this ourselves at all. There is no performance difference and there is no observable difference at all in the prerelease version. None. Other than lower use of window resources. Although we did not do any back testing. Just observing real-time updating of charts.

...all good...
...do not worry about "freezing" on my side...
...my post only had "fyi nature" about "connecting issue" that you guys confirmed in your first response...
...
...your suggestion about playing with "chart updating time/ increasing it" that I followed gave me much calmer cooling fans...thank you for that...
...allow me this much...your Denali/Teton feed is beyond phenomenal...
...all the best...
