I might be losing my mind, but my VbP for my tick chart only updates after a candle finishes. Is there a way to have like constant updates?

Like when market opens, my VbP is just a grey line, then once a candle finishes, a bulge of volume appears on the line. I want it to constantly build like the DoM

The Volume by Price study should be updating as data is added to the chart. If this is not what you are seeing then get us a chart that shows the issue by following these instructions: Support Board Posting Information: Providing Chartbook with Only a Single Chart For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

i think its cause my tick chart was using a different volume graph period type than my DoM. I used multiple profiles based on fix timed to stop the profile from overlapping the candles, but maybe using lock fill space will fix that and i just change the graph period type to "from session start to end" like my DoM.

We see the Volume profile update constantly as it should. Whether you have 1 profile or multiple profiles should not make any difference. The current profile should be updating at each chart update (every 1/2 second by default). We are not certain of what you are seeing, what you are stating is occurring should not be. Ive attached a clip if you are able to view it. Notice how the VbP on the right side is just a long grey line until the RV reaches 0 and volume appears

It looks like the Volume profile is just compressed down at that point and you are not able to view the information being added. If you change the Input for "Maximum Volume Bar Width Type" to "Window Width", you will be able to get a better view of the profile as it is being built. The reason for what you are seeing is related to the Inputs for "Right Align Volume Profile" and "Always Display Last Profile in View" and how much space there is for that profile at any given time. Changing the Bar Spacing can also improve this with these Inputs set as they are.
