Hello! I have a chartbook that includes several intraday charts and one historical chart, most of which are volume-based. To backtest and trade my strategy, I’m focusing on the ESZ20 contract from September 2020. With my chartbook open, I navigated to "File" >> "Find Symbol," selected ESZ20, and clicked "Change Chart Symbol." While the historical chart updated successfully, my intraday charts have been stuck on "Downloading Continuous Contract Data" for quite some time, with no apparent progress. For reference, my quarterly chart is set to "Days to Load for Intraday Chart Type" at 300. All of my charts are configured as "Continuous Futures Contracts - Volume Based Rollover, Back Adjusted." I really need this data to accurately trade September 2020 on a tick-by-tick basis. Any guidance on resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated. Best wishes! |

If you want to load the data just for ESZ20, then you need to set the "Continuous Contract" option on the Chart Settings to "None". In other words, for a continuous futures contract, you need the current front contract loaded, otherwise it will not work properly. Refer to the following: Chart Settings: Continuous Contract (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Symbol menu) For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
