Hi,

I have been trying to get my alerts to trigger in a chat group, but as soon as I do anything in the chat window in freezes completely - I have no option but to force exit out of Chat which kills Sierra Chart also and needs to be reloaded. I can make a new group, but as soon as I attempt to do anything with the group is freezes up.

Any help much appreciated,
Bill

We may need to do a remote assistance session for this. We are going to put out a new version. We will want you to test. If that does not resolve the issue we need to do a remote assistance session with you to look into this.

We are going to release version 2670 in about 10 minutes.

Thanks for the very quick response!

I have updated to 2670 and it's behaving exactly the same unfortunately... A remote assistance session would be fine thanks, maybe we could schedule for tomorrow please? Also, I am a Linux user running SC with Wine, just in case that's relevant.

Thanks,
Bill

Yes this is very relevant. This is a known issue. We think it is because the chat runs on another thread.

We need to implement the option to not use a separate thread for chat.

Thanks guys, I'll keep an eye on the change log to see if you manage to get it sorted, I realise that Linux is not officially supported so many thanks for this!

Actually we were thinking about this, we do not think this is a change we can make. It has associated complications.

So at this time unless it is resolved by Wine there is no solution to this right now.

You can Edit a post. There is an Edit link in the lower right of every post. Chat is the only way to do external alerts.
