Hi Guys, I have many charts that make extensive use of the AddAdditionalSymbol study. They all stopped working mysteriously on June 14th, 2024. One possible explanation: It was about that time that I upgraded from the old SC "ORS" order routing to the current "Teton CME Order Routing" service. Suspecting this might be the issue, I already tried Edit->Translate symbols to current service, and that didn't help. A simple 1-chart .CHT that reproduces this problem is attached. Please advise how I can fix this. Thanks in advance!!! |

The "Translate Symbols to Current Service" does not work on studies. So you would have to change the symbols for each of the "Add Additional Symbol" studies that you have. The difference between the symbol formats from what you were using to what is needed for the "Teton Order Routing Service" is that the end of the symbol for spreads needs to change from ".NYMEX" to ".CME". For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Ok, I understand the explanation. THANKS for the prompt reply. But look, I have HUNDRED of charts and probably THOUSANDS of instances of AddAdditionalSymbol. In the past you guys DID provide an automated translation of these "study symbols", and that saved me from literally weeks of work to update all my charts manually. Is there any way to automate this? Thanks in advance!!! |

There is an option to update the symbols for "Add Additional Symbol" studies when rolling over a contract. But there is not a way to do this due to changes in the service.

Ok what about something like a shell script to substitute .NYMEX with .CME in the .CHT files. Would changing the length of the file (.CME is shorter than .NYMEX) corrupt the file structure? Is there any other way you can think of for me to update all my charts without having to F6 thru every single study? I literally have thousands of studies in dozens to hundreds of charts... Thanks in advance! |

The only way we can think to automate this would be with a custom study where you can change the Input of another study. Refer to the following: sc.SetChartStudyInputString() For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
