I am trying to plot a chart of ES that creates a daily bar that starts at 23:00:00 pm CST and ends at 22:59:59 pm CST of the next day and count that as the Daily bar. During the week it plots correctly, but when we hit the weekend I have the problem. For example, the Friday session would have just ended (Thursday 23:00:00 pm to Sunday 22:59:59 pm) and the High during this time period was 5530.00 and the Low was 5459.75. I have been looking through searches online and the help guides in SC, but can't seem to figure it out. I have customized the time and as mentioned it works during the week, but when we come to the weekend instead of picking up where it left off on Friday and finish plotting out the price again until 22:59:59 Sunday to form my defined Friday daily bar it wants to start a new bar at 17:00:00 pm CST on Sunday. I end up with a Thursday 23:00:00 bar and then a Saturday 23:00:00 bar and then a Sunday 23:00:00 bar. I have changed a number of the settings to get it to look like I want it to, but I haven't found the combination that works. I apologize for my ignorance, but appreciate any help you can give. Thank you in advance for your time. Frank |

If you want to see all of the trading data for the the times of 23:00:00 to 22:59:59 for all days in which trading occurs, then what you are seeing is correct. Keep in mind, the actual trading ends on Friday at 16:00:00 then starts again on Sunday night at 17:00:00. Therefore, you are seeing bars that include the following data: - Thursday: 23:00:00 (Thursday) - 16:00:00 (Friday) - Saturday: 17:00:00 (Sunday) - 22:59:59 (Sunday) - Monday: 23:00:00 (Sunday) - 22:59:59 (Tuesday) If you do not want to see the Saturday bar (and hence not see that data at all), then set "Chart >> Chart Settings >> Session Times >> Weekend Data" to "Do Not Load Weekend Data". Refer to the following: Chart Settings: Weekend Data (List) (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Session Times >> Intraday Chart Session Times menu) For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Thank you John! So I guess what you are saying is that I will have to mentally merge those two bars together to have my Friday bar and that there is no way to combine those two bars into one bar and have that plot...correct? I don't want to not include that Saturday bar because you could get a High or Low during that time. Let me know. Thanks! Frank |

There is not a built-in way to combine the bars as you are wanting. Given the times that you have set, what you are getting is correct. You might be able to do what you are wanting by using a Custom Study to create custom bars. Refer to the following: ACSIL Interface - Custom Chart Bars https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SierraChartStudyAndSystemProgrammers.php Also, if you set your Session Times to be 17:00:00 - 16:59:59, then you would get a Thursday and Sunday bar. In either case, you need to remember that the bar is showing the actual start time of the trading period, so for what you are doing, the bar is off by one day for the trading day (i.e. the Sunday bar represents the trading on Monday, the Monday bar represents the trading on Tuesday, etc. For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing Date Time Of Last Edit: 2024-07-29 17:57:21
