SO I have trying to load data for mini TOPIX and I've been unable to load any beyond the date of June 6th 2024. I have no data restrictions as I have not loaded any excess amount of data that would cause me to not be able to load anymore and even if I did it would have reset itself for the week, so that is not the issue. I have already checked and made sure that my data/service > common settings were correct so that is also not the issue. What else could be the issue ?

If this is a futures contract this makes sense. If it is the June contract then it would make sense you cannot load data earlier than June, 2024. CQG does not provide data for expired futures contracts. So there is nothing wrong here. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. and if I understand correctly, I cant utilize continuous contracts with CQG data? Which would theoretically mean that in order for me to observe the past auctioning process at these current prices (being that the last time we traded these prices were before June) I'd have to open that specific contract in a separate chart? |

Yes they cannot be used reliably.Only if you have the data. If you try this now you will simply not get any historical data for expired contracts because CQG does not provide that data: Which would theoretically mean that in order for me to observe the past auctioning process at these current prices (being that the last time we traded these prices were before June) I'd have to open that specific contract in a separate chart?

Damn, that sucks. Is there any way for me to bring in that data from an alternative source somehow?

You can see if the data is available from IQ Feed. Refer to the following: DTN IQ Feed Data Service But you will not be able to trade from that data, you will only be able to view it, as it is coming from a different source. If you go this route, then you will want to have a separate installation of Sierra Chart that will be connected to IQ Feed. Refer to the following: Using Multiple Data and Trading Services at the Same Time: Step-By-Step Instructions to Install Multiple Copies of Sierra Chart For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
