How to Post a Message for Support

Not getting live data

I recently signed on with Service Package 12 and the Denali Exchange Data Feed with activated NASDAQ total View and US Equities Consolidated Tape. However, only one chartbook is getting live data (the others are in "Sim" mode" and not getting any live data) and the live data that is coming through appears to be very limited (not expected amount or speed). I do not need a broker as I am using Schwab/TOS to execute trades. Please advise on how to get "normal" live data on all my chartbooks. Thx

When you say one "Chartbook" is getting live data and others are not - are these in different installations of Sierra Chart or within a single installation? Or perhaps a Sub-Instance? Please get us your Message Log when you are having this problem by following these instructions: Follow the instructions here to clear the Message Log: Message Log: Clearing the Message Log Close all of the Chartbooks with "File >> Close All Chartbooks". Open a single chart for the symbol you have an issue with through "File >> Find Symbol". Tell us that symbol of the chart. Tell us about one symbol only. Disconnect from the data feed with "File >> Disconnect". Connect to the data feed with "File >> Connect to Data Feed". After the connection and after about 10 seconds, provide a copy of the Message Log following these instructions: Support Board Posting Information: How to Post Your Message Log (Required In Some Cases) We will then determine what the problem is. All chartbooks are within one instance of the ARM version. One chartbook getting live data and other 2 in "sim" mode. Can I take the other 2 charts out of sim mode?

The entire system is either in "Simulation Mode" or not. It is not a "per chartbook" item. This has nothing to do with getting data or not. And different chartbooks doesn't have anything to do with getting data or not. Please give us an image of a chart that is working and an image of a chart that is not working. Preferably the same symbol. I believe I have solved the data feed issue. Now I am testing to see if data will populate the DOM. Please confirm that my services (Service Package 12 with Denali Exchange Data Feed with activated NASDAQ total View and US Equities Consolidated Tape) are adequate for real-time market depth MBO data for Nasdaq stocks? Is there any other service or exchange that could be added for more comprehensive data flows? Thank you.

What you have is the best option we have available for viewing the Market Depth for U.S. Stocks. Just make sure you enter the symbol with the _MBO suffix in order to get the Price/Volume data from the U.S. Equities Consolidated Tape and the Market Depth from the NASDAQ TotalView. (pls see pic) The DOM shows data for B/A stacking and pulling, but it is overlapping - anyway to combine these? Also, no data in "sell" or "Buy" columns even when I take out the "Combined Bid/Ask Size" column, and no data in Market Orders Column. (pls see pic) Thx

With regards to the Pulling/Stacking column, it looks like you are using a "Chart >> Chart Settings >> Market Depth >> Market Depth Combine Increments in Ticks" that is greater than 1. That setting does not apply to any other columns, except for the possibility of the Recent Bid/Ask volumes if you set the option for "Chart >> Chart Settings >> Market Depth >> Apply Combine Increment in Ticks to Recent Bid/Ask Volume Columns". Refer to the following: Chart Settings: Market Depth Combine Increment in Ticks (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Market Depth menu) Chart Settings: Apply Combine Increment in Ticks to Recent Bid/Ask Volume Columns (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Market Depth menu) -- With regards to the Bid/Ask Market Depth, you need to remove the "Combined Bid/Ask Size" column and then you would need to add the "Bid/Ask Size" columns, or the "Bid/Buy (Ask/Sell) Columns". in order to view the market depth data. The Buy/Sell columns themselves do not show this data. -- With regards to the Market Orders column, you should be getting this data. You have to have the correct symbol, since you are getting the Market Depth data in general, so we know that is not the issue. The only other item that we can think of that would affect this is the Symbol Setting for "Minimum Market By Order Quantity". Make sure this is not set to some very high number that is preventing anything from being displayed.
