Hi - I have the True Range study (with Avg. True Range) on my charts and whenever the market gaps up overnight, I am getting a huge True Range bar representing the overnight move.

I am wondering if there is a way to use True Range to only account for the bar sizes (High minus Low), but without including the gaps. I believe this skews my ATR rolling data. I have attached a pic to show what the gap looks like on my TR study.

You can create your own True Range study using the Spreadsheet Formula study, with a formula like this in the Formula field:

Thanks. I gave this a go and I'm not getting the bars to show up. On the subgraph tab, I have it set to "Bar" draw style, and have it in green, and so I would expect them to show up. I have my settings as you can see in the attached image. I also included a screenshot of the area where the bars for true range are not appearing

Set the Number of Bars to Calculate to 2000 or so.

This value will need to be at least as large as the 'Based On' MA's length.
