Hi, I use Interactive Brokers. For ES and NQ I use format ES-201309-Globex but I can not chart NIY-201309-Globex as shown on the Sierra Chart list of symbols. I can only chart this future with different format: NIYU3-FUT-GLOBEX-JPY. The problem is the Open Position at Sierra Chart still zero after an order filled because the log using different format that is NIY-201309-Globex. I use spreadsheet for automatic trading. It bought more contracts than the limit I set because the position on hand was still zero for NIYU3-FUT-GLOBEX-JPY and all of the position on hand was under NIY-201309-GLOBEX. I put the last format at the alternate symbol in chart setting window but the result was the same. Please help. Thanks. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2013-07-23 03:12:25

This is one of these intractable problems with Interactive Brokers which is hard for us to resolve. Interactive Brokers symbol specifications are very complex and change without any notice or reason. If we try to solve this, then we end up breaking compatibility with the most commonly used symbol format. For now we recommend using order fill calculated positions for the chart or trade DOM you are using: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_TradeStatusWindows.html#UsingIndependentInternalPositions Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Try using the following symbol: NIY-201309-GLOBEX-JPY You will need version Sierra Chart 1004 for correct Trade Position tracking when using this symbol. If this does not work, then add another - at the end and specify the Multiplier as shown in the TWS Contract Info for this market.
